Write Down One Thing You’re Currently Overthinking—and Release It

Have you ever felt like your mind keeps replaying the same thought on loop, even when it’s not helping you?

Overthinking can make even small situations feel heavier than they really are. Today, instead of trying to solve everything in your head, try this simple practice: write down one thing you’re currently overthinking—and consciously let it go.

Pick just one thought that’s been circling your mind lately. Put it on paper or in your notes app exactly as it is. Then, instead of analyzing it further, give yourself permission to pause the mental spiral.

Getting thoughts out of your head and onto paper helps create distance from them. It shifts the experience from something you’re inside of to something you can observe. This can reduce emotional intensity and make it easier to see the situation more clearly—or realize it doesn’t need more attention right now.

Not every thought needs a solution in this moment. Some just need space to settle.

After writing it down, take a slow breath and gently remind yourself that you don’t have to keep carrying it mentally. You can return to it later if needed, but for now, you’re allowed to set it down.

Give it a try today—you may notice a quiet sense of relief from simply letting one thought stop taking up so much space.

🌿 Not every thought needs to stay in your mind to be acknowledged.
